US completes another round of attacks on Iran, says Central Command

CENTCOM (US Central Command) stated that it concluded its most recent round of attacks against Iran on Wednesday night (10).

"CENTCOM forces launched attacks against Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communications systems, and air defense installations throughout Iran. U.S. Marines, Air Force, and Navy fired precision munitions at Iranian targets that posed a threat to U.S. forces and international commercial ships transiting regional waters," CENTCOM posted on its official X social media account.

In the early evening, the US began a new wave of attacks against Iranian targets for the second day in a row. CENTCOM justified the strikes as a response to "Iran's continued unjustified aggression."

The information was released by CENTCOM (US Central Command), which classified the offensive as a response to "Iran's unjustified and continuous aggression".

"U.S. Central Command forces began launching additional self-defense strikes today at 5:15 p.m. ET against multiple targets in Iran on orders from the Commander in Chief. The strikes are a response to Iran's continued unwarranted aggression."

Following the announcement, official Iranian media reported that explosions were heard in the vicinity of Minab and Sirik, close to the Strait of Hormuz.

The press also reported that air defense systems at Asaluyeh had been activated, but added that no enemy attacks had so far taken place on a major energy hub that houses refineries and petrochemical complexes.

Asaluyeh is a port city in the Bushehr province of southern Iran, situated on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf.

In response, Iran's joint military high command announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, preventing the transit of ships including oil tankers and commercial ships, stating that any vessel attempting to pass through will be fired upon.

Moments after the announcement, the US Army stated that commercial ships continue to transit the waterway.
