The Chamber's Ethics Council approved, this Tuesday (9), the suspension for 60 days of the mandate of deputy Marcos Pollon (PL-MS), for having made statements considered offensive against the president of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB).

The report that called for punishment, authored by deputy Ricardo Maia (MDB-PA), was approved with 9 votes in favor and 4 against. In the document, the rapporteur stated that immunity does not extend to "acts in dissonance with the dignity of parliament".

Despite the decision, Pollon will not have his mandate immediately suspended. The defense can still appeal to the CCJ (Constitution and Justice Commission) to try to remedy any procedural defects, and then the representation still needs to be voted on in the Chamber plenary.

In August 2025, in Campo Grande (MS), during an event in defense of amnesty for those involved in the criminal acts of January 8, 2023, Pollon took the microphone to talk about the projects being processed on the topic in the Chamber.

On that occasion, he used profane words to refer to other parliamentarians, and criticized his colleagues on the bench, stating that they did not have the courage "to insult Hugo Motta's shit". The episode was filmed and went viral on social media in his electoral base.

The deputy denied that his speech led to a breach of parliamentary decorum. In his defense, Pollon said that there was no unequivocal evidence to prove his intention to disrespect Motta's authority or fail to fulfill his functional duty.
