"Not Alone": animation with Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez gets teaser
Universal Pictures released this Tuesday (30) the first official teaser for the animation "Not Alone", voiced by Timothée Chalamet, 30, and Selena Gomez, 33. After working together in "A Rainy Day in New York" (2019), the pair of actors will return to play a couple in the animated feature.
Chalamet will take on the voice of Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet and solitary life, while the singer will be Fran, a brilliant astrobotanist who is developing the world's first plant-powered rocket.
In the first images, which feature David Bowie's "Space Oddity" as the soundtrack, viewers are introduced to the slow and sweet romance between co-workers who decide to have dinner together. In the midst of a collision between an extraterrestrial object and Earth, humanity is afraid of what the unknown situation could represent.
The plot takes on a chaotic pace "when three aliens - tiny, lost, rambunctious and adorable - take refuge in Joe's house." During exchanges between species, the intruders discover that the safest way to return home will be Fran's new rocket.
In addition to the protagonists, Brett Goldstein, from "Ted Lasso" (2020), will play Zandro, a zealous law enforcement officer from another planet who is responsible for the visitors' encounter with Joe, and the aliens will be voiced by actors Rob Brydon ("Barbie"), Diane Morgan ("Cunk on Earth") and Jamie Demetriou ("Cruella").
Directed by Eric Guillon ("Despicable Me 3"), "Not Alone" does not yet have a Brazilian title or cast. With no set release date, the first trailer confirms that the narrative should hit theaters around the world in April next year.
