Norway coach on English stars: "They don't play in the Premier League"

Norway coach Stale Solbakken has dismissed the idea that having several Premier League players represents an advantage for his team in the duel against England in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

In a good-humored tone, he highlighted that the opponent's main highlights actually work outside of English football.

Norway counts names like Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard among its Premier League players. However, Solbakken highlighted that England's top two scorers currently play in other European leagues.

While Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane competes for the World Cup top scorer with six goals, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham also stands out with four goals - including two in the 3-2 victory over Mexico in the round of 16.

"I don't know if this represents an advantage. Of course, some of our players have already faced many athletes from England," Solbakken told journalists this Wednesday (8).

"England's two best players don't play in the Premier League. They play in Spain and Germany. So you can also look at it from that side."
