American winger Davaunta Thomas, aged 31, will not remain at Corinthians for the 2026/2027 season. According to information published by Meu Timão, the athlete leaves Parque São Jorge for reasons of reducing the department's costs. Alvinegro, it is worth remembering, is experiencing a serious financial crisis and, according to the same portal, the budget for the sport will be reduced by 30% for the start of the new season.
In addition to him, his compatriot Elyjah Clark (wing) and center Kauan Raymundo are two other confirmed departures. The first must transfer to Minas, while the second has negotiations underway with Brasília. Even with the desire of both parties to remain, the financial aspect influenced Thomas's departure.

His next club, however, has not yet been defined, as he is on vacation in the United States. Therefore, it is likely that Davaunta Thomas will not return to Brazil and will remain abroad. In two spells at Corinthians (2022-2023 and 2025-2026), there were 110 games, with 64 wins and 46 losses - 58.18% success, in addition to 1796 points, 396 rebounds and 329 assists.
In July last year, he returned to Alvinegro and was one of the main players in the squad in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) campaign until the semifinals, when Timão fell to Pinheiros after being defeated 3 x 1 in the series. This season, he had the second highest score on the team, averaging 15.4 points in 45 games.
Next season, Corinthians will compete in: Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB), Campeonato Paulista and Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB).
