Nexus/BTG: negative assessment of the Lula government is 42%; positive, 38%

According to the most recent round of the Nexus/BTG survey, released this Monday (29), 42% of the Brazilian electorate negatively evaluates the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), while 38% positively evaluates the PT member's performance at the head of the federal government.

In the negative evaluation, 33% consider Lula's work to be terrible and 9%, bad. On the positive spectrum, 20% of those interviewed responded that the PT government is good and 18% consider it excellent.

Finally, 18% say that the federal administration is regular and 1% do not know or did not respond.

In this round of the survey, the group that evaluates the government as bad or terrible once again oscillated upwards, a trend that began in June, which reached 41%. At the beginning of the historical series, in March, the index was 44%, reaching its lowest value in May, when it scored 40%.

Those who evaluate the government positively maintain their highest representation since the beginning of the evaluation rounds, repeating the value of the previous survey, when the indicator was 38%.

Government approval
The survey also measured approval of the Lula government among voters. Of those interviewed, 48% approve of the government, while another 48% disapprove of the PT's management.

Methodology
Nexus/BTG interviewed 2,009 voters, between June 26th and 28th, via telephone interview. The survey's margin of error is 2 percentage points, plus or minus, with a 95% confidence interval.
