João Pedro has been in Barcelona's sights for several weeks, but the club faces a major obstacle in completing the negotiation: the Brazilian's value.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the main obstacle has always been the player's market valuation. In 2025, Chelsea signed João Pedro from Brighton for around 60 million euros (R$385 million at the time).

After his time with the Blues, the 24-year-old player's value could reach 100 million euros (around R$582.8 million at current prices).

Furthermore, according to Marca, Chelsea are not very willing to let João Pedro leave, as he was voted the club's best player of the season.

However, the striker is not on Carlo Ancelotti's list for the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and Chelsea will not compete in the Champions League next year. The Brazilian finished his first season at the English club with 20 goals and 9 assists.

In Barça's sights
Barcelona acts quickly to reinforce the attack after Lewandowski's departure. The Polish striker, whose contract expires at the end of June, has already announced that he will not remain at Camp Nou next season.

Therefore, the club is accelerating its efforts to secure a number 9 as quickly as possible. It is worth mentioning that João Pedro is not the only name on the club's wish list; Julián Álvarez is also on Barça's radar, but his price is currently exorbitant.
