"The Athletic", the sports arm of the newspaper "The New York Times", published this Tuesday (26), the ranking of the best signings of the 25-26 Premier League season. Brazilians Rayan and João Pedro appear in the top 10 of the list.

The list brought together 189 transfers, and the criteria took into account the impact on the field, expectations and the cost of signing.

Rayan, Bournemouth striker, appears in seventh place. The newspaper praises the ex-Vasco's quick adaptation to the English championship and his impressive numbers. The World Cup squad member had seven goal appearances in 13 Premier League starts.

"The Athletic" also compared the Brazilian's playing style and speed on the field to that of Gareth Bale, the legendary Welshman formerly of Tottenham and Real Madrid.

João Pedro appears in fifth place. The Chelsea player has been mentioned as one of the team's central pieces of the season. The Brazilian had 23 goals and six assists in all competitions.

Other Brazilians on the list
Estevão and Matheus Cunha also appear in the ranking. The newspaper highlights the good performances that Estevão had on the field and comments on the injury that left him out of the World Cup.

Matheus Cunha is considered one of the players who have improved the most after Michael Carrick's arrival at Manchester United in January, and his performance is expected to be even better next season.
