New social network uses AI to organize debates; get to know PapoLegal
A new social network is reaching Brazilian users. Called PapoLegal, the new feature focuses on live debates as its main proposal and tries to offer a more organized environment for online conversations.
The Brazilian platform brings together real-time interaction features, the use of artificial intelligence and information verification mechanisms.
The central idea of the application is to open space for discussions on various topics, such as politics, sports, technology, games and entertainment.
How does PapoLegal work?
The operation of PapoLegal is based on open discussion rooms, in which users can participate in real-time conversations about different topics. Within these spaces, users can send messages, respond to participants, monitor who is online and follow topics of interest.
According to an official statement from PapoLegal, the structure seeks to revive the logic of old chat rooms, but adapted to a more organized environment.

Instead of centralizing the experience in a traditional feed, the application focuses interaction on thematic discussions, in which the conversation takes place simultaneously between participants.
Another aspect of the app's functioning is the integration between content and debate. The Newspaper section connects news from partner portals to discussion rooms, allowing an article to serve as a starting point for a conversation.
AI and fact checking are the platform's main differentiators
One of the main innovations of the social network is the way it deals with facts, especially in a digital scenario increasingly marked by the dissemination of fake news.
By long-pressing a message published in the conversation, the user can request verification of that information. The project states that the information undergoes an analysis carried out with the support of artificial intelligence and international fact-checking agencies.
This analysis can indicate whether the analyzed statement is true, false, partially true or if there are not enough elements to validate it. The proposal is to integrate this process into the conversation itself, bringing the debate closer to checking the information discussed.
Artificial intelligence is also used in PapoLegal to generate automatic summaries of ongoing debates.
Gamification and user participation drive the app
In addition to technological mediation, PapoLegal invests in gamification tools to encourage presence and involvement in the rooms.
These include Debate Mode, in which the user chooses a side before entering the discussion, live polls created by moderators and a system of levels and achievements aimed at active participation.
The platform also uses a virtual currency called LeroLero, accumulated by actions such as participating in rooms, logging in daily, inviting friends and completing internal missions.
According to data released by the company, in less than a week the application surpassed 1.5 million views, 100 thousand messages exchanged and 80 thousand "joins" in rooms, in addition to distributing more than 1 million points and almost 500 badges to engaged users.
"PapoLegal was born to rescue the essence of real conversations, using artificial intelligence to qualify the debate. Here, everyone can participate on equal terms. What matters is the quality of the argument", said one of the creators of PapoLegal, Eduardo Moreira, in an official statement.
