Neo Química Arena is taking advantage of the interruption of the national calendar during the 2026 World Cup to carry out a complete renovation of its pitch. The interventions began shortly after the friendly match between the Brazilian Women's Team and the United States, played last Saturday (6), the last event held at the stadium before construction work began.
The project foresees the total renovation of the playing field and is part of a plan drawn up in 2025. The work involves removing the current grass, scraping the organic matter accumulated over the last few months and repositioning the synthetic fibers installed below the surface of the lawn.

The objective is to completely level the land and provide better conditions for the development of new vegetation cover, ensuring a high standard of quality for the remainder of the season.
The renovation marks an important moment for Neo Química Arena, as it will be the first time that this type of process will be carried out during the Brazilian winter. The period is considered ideal for the growth of ryegrass, a variety of grass used in large European football stadiums and maintained throughout the year at the Corinthian stadium thanks to the cooling system installed under the field.
The intervention also represents the final stage of a cycle that began in July 2025, when the stadium received the installation of new synthetic fibers to reinforce the structure of the hybrid pitch. With the completion of the work scheduled for the next few months, the expectation is that the field will return to conditions considered ideal, similar to those observed when the arena opened in 2014.
