NBA: Rocked, Knicks beat Cavaliers and take a 2-0 lead in the East final

The New York Knicks are still in a great phase in the NBA playoffs and took a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference final after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-93, this Thursday (21), in New York.

The highlight of the match was Josh Hart, who recovered from a discreet performance in the first game and led a decisive sequence in the third quarter. The player scored nine of the 18 consecutive points scored by the Knicks in the period.

The New York team had already won Game 1 by 115 to 104, in overtime, after coming from a 22-point deficit in the last quarter. Now, the Knicks need just two wins to get back to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.

The team has nine consecutive victories, a franchise record in a single postseason. The last defeat came on April 23, against the Atlanta Hawks, still in the first round of the playoffs.

In addition to Hart, the Knicks had important performances from Karl-Anthony Towns, who recorded 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Jalen Brunson, with 19 points and a personal record of 14 assists in playoffs. Mikal Bridges also scored 19 points, while OG Anunoby contributed 14.

For Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell scored 26 points, while Jarrett Allen finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Game 3 will be played on Saturday (24), in Cleveland.
