Alessandra Mussolini, granddaughter of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, won Grand Fratello VIP, a version of "Big Brother" aimed only at famous participants.
The grand final of the program took place on Tuesday night (20). Alessandra competed for the prize with actress Antonella Elia, and won the reality show after receiving 55.95% of the public's votes.
With her win, Alessandra won the prize of 550 thousand euros (around R$3.3 million).
Granddaughter of Mussolini, Alessandra Mussolini is 63 years old and has a career that spanned politics and entertainment. With work as an actress, singer and model, she entered her political career in 2004, when she became the first woman to lead a political party in Italy, with the conservative Social Action.
In the past, she was accused of homophobia and also strongly opposed the adoption of children by same-sex couples. But a few years ago, Alessandra Mussolini left these speeches and the ostensible defense of her grandfather's legacy, becoming a fervent activist for LGTQIA+ rights. On TV and social media, she began to repel attacks by the Meloni government against the community.
"No more sex and sexuality, everyone is as fluid as they want", he stated in 2022.
