Mountaineer is rescued by helicopter after being injured climbing in RJ
The Military Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro carried out, this Sunday morning (7), a rescue operation in a mountain area in the Cosme Velho region, in the South Zone of Rio.
According to the corporation, the victim, an adult man, suffered a dislocated shoulder during a climbing activity and was unable to leave the area by his own means.

The operation mobilized teams from the 1st Military Firefighter Group (Humaitá), the 1st Forestry and Environmental Relief Group, specialized in forest and mountain rescues, as well as an aircraft from the Air Operations Group.
In the publication made by the Fire Department on social media, the mountaineer himself, Emerson Gaier Rosa, thanked him for the action: "Thank you very much! In this case, the victim was me. I had no way of leaving the mountain without this air rescue. My shoulder came out of place and the pain was intense. Thank you for everything", he said.
Due to the difficult access to the region, firefighters used specialized height rescue techniques to safely remove the man.
After the rescue, the victim was transported by helicopter to the Air Operations Group base, in Lagoa. Then, a corporation ambulance carried out the transfer to the Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital.
