Morocco draws with Norway before opening against Brazil in the World Cup

The Moroccan team took the lead, but drew 1-1 with Norway this Sunday (7), in a friendly preparatory match for the 2026 World Cup. The duel held in New Jersey, in the United States, was the team's last test before facing the Brazilian team in the competition.

Brahim Díaz opened the scoring just seven minutes into the first half, after intense pressure from the Moroccans. The Norwegians started to control the game, but suffered some dangerous attacks.

The score changed 30 minutes into the second half. Odegaard left everything the same with a first-time finish inside the opponent's box.

Morocco's next commitment will be in the World Cup opener, against Brazil, next Saturday (13), at 7pm (Brasília time). Scotland and Haiti complete Group C.

Norway, in turn, begins its journey to the World Cup against Iraq, on June 16th, at 7pm. The match valid for Group I, which also includes France and Senegal, will be held in Boston.

Full-back Noussair Mazraoui was substituted in the first half of the friendly due to physical discomfort. The Moroccan national team player came out for Youssef Belammari. He has been one of the pillars of the African team since before the 2022 World Cup.
