More than 50 thousand items from the 2026 World Cup are seized in São Paulo

Police officers from Deic (State Department of Criminal Investigations) seized, this Tuesday (9), more than 50 thousand items from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, in popular consumption centers in the East zone of São Paulo.

According to the corporation, the seizures took place on Avenida Rangel Pestana, in Brás, and streets Valtier and Alexandrino Pedroso, in Canindé. In total, 50,000 stickers, 1,000 albums and 1,039 t-shirts were found.

In addition to the material - which will undergo forensic examination - four people involved were also located and are responsible for crimes against industrial property.

The action, coordinated and intensified by police officers from the 1st DIG Police Station, takes place as the start of the football championship approaches. The objective is to combat counterfeiting of stickers, albums and sporting equipment.
