Which old iPhone is most worth it in 2025?
Thursday (25) is not easy for consumers. Two technology giants have announced significant price increases for their products.
Apple raised the prices of iPads and MacBooks, claiming that it can no longer absorb the sharp rise in the costs of memory and storage chips. Microsoft, owner of the Xbox brand, reported that, from August 1st, consoles will be up to 33% more expensive.

Apple clarified that the adjustment, driven by the expansion of data centers focused on artificial intelligence, does not affect the iPhone, the company's main product.
The MacBook Neo, an entry-level notebook launched to compete with cheaper models equipped with Windows and Chromebooks, had its initial price raised from US$599 to US$699 (around R$3,634, without taxes).
Among the main readjustments announced by Apple are:
MacBook Neo: from US$599 to US$699 (from R$3,114 to R$ 3,634);
MacBook Air (512 GB): from US$1,099 to US$1,299 (from R$5,715 to R$6,755);
MacBook Pro (1 TB): from US$1,699 to US$1,999 (from R$8,835 to R$10,395);
iPad Air (128 GB): from US$599 to US$749 (from R$3,114 to R$3,894).
The company also increased the prices of the two versions of the HomePod and the Apple TV. After the announcement, Apple's shares fell almost 5%, while Dell's shares fell more than 8%.

Xbox also rises in price
For gamers, the adjustment also weighs on their pockets. According to Microsoft, Xbox consoles will increase by US$100 for 512 GB models and US$150 for 1 TB versions.
"In addition, we will discontinue the 2 TB model," the company said in a note.
The new prices are:
Xbox Series S 512 GB: from US$399.99 to US$499.99 (from around R$2,080 to R$2,600);
Xbox Series S 1 TB: from US$449.99 to US$ 599.99 (from around R$2,340 to R$3,120);
Xbox Series (from around R$3,380 to R$4,160).
The increases continue the adjustments started last year. In October 2025, Microsoft had already raised the price of consoles between US$20 and US$70 in the United States.
"Unfortunately, storage and memory costs for consoles have increased more than 2.5 times, and we expect them to double again by the second half of 2027," said the company.

What explains the readjustments?
The announcements show that not even Apple, considered a reference in supply chain efficiency, has managed to escape the spike in memory prices, which is beginning to affect the entire the electronics industry.
Memory manufacturers, such as Micron, have prioritized supplying artificial intelligence chip companies, such as Nvidia. The strategy increased the profits of these manufacturers, but reduced the supply of components for producers of computers, smartphones and other electronics.
"We have never seen an increase in the price of components so large and so fast," Apple said in a statement. "So far we have managed to protect our customers from these increases, but we have reached a point where we need to start raising the prices of several products."
Microsoft states that the crisis also hits the console market hard. "The entire consumer electronics industry faces the current component crisis, but the effects are especially severe for consoles," the company said.
According to the company, unlike cell phones, computers and other devices, consoles are not normally sold at a profit, but at a price lower than their manufacturing cost.
