Monaco announces Filipe Luís as new coach

Monaco announced this Monday (6) the Brazilian Filipe Luís as its new coach. The French club and the former Flamengo signed a contract until June 2028 in the Brazilian's first experience as a coach in international football.

"AS Monaco is pleased to announce the arrival of Filipe Luís as coach, marking the beginning of a new era", declared the French club.

The information had been provided at the end of May by journalist Fabrizio Romano, and confirmed by the French newspaper "L'Équipe".

Another club that was monitoring the Brazilian coach was Bayern Leverkusen as a possible replacement for Kasper Hjulmand.

Without a club since Flamengo's dismissal in March, Filipe Luís began his career as a coach after ending his career as a player in 2024. At the Rio club, he initially coached the youth teams before taking charge of the main squad.

With Flamengo, he won five titles, including the Copa Libertadores da América and the 2025 Brazilian Championship.
