MIT leads university rankings for the 15th year in a row

The 23rd edition of the "QS World University Ranking", which evaluates more than 1,500 higher education institutions in 106 countries, was released last Wednesday (17) by the British consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The University of São Paulo (USP) lost 25 positions, going from 108th place to 133rd place, but is still the best placed Brazilian institution. In the Latin American section, the first is the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), which occupies 84th place in the general ranking.

For the 15th consecutive year, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) tops the list.

Universities were evaluated according to nine indicators: academic reputation, reputation among employers, professor to student ratio, scientific citations, number of foreign students, international faculty, sustainability, employability and international research network.
