Minister Tomé Franca foresees 15 more port auctions by the end of the year
The Minister of Ports and Airports, Tomé Franca, said this Saturday (23) that another 15 port infrastructure auctions are planned for the end of this year. The statement was made during the Esfera forum, in Guarujá (SP), after the concession, in February, of three terminals in Santana (AP), Natal (RN) and Porto Alegre (RS).
The schedule for the coming months includes strategic areas in ports such as Rio de Janeiro, São Sebastião (SP), Itajaí (SC) and Santos (SP). The most anticipated auction is that of the Tecon Santos 10 superterminal, at the Port of Santos, with expected investments of R$6.4 billion to expand capacity by 50%.
Franca also said that there is optimism about the success of the auctions, since, he highlighted, the government has presented projects - not only in ports, but also in airports, highways and railways - which have filled B3, where the tenders are held.
According to the minister, the country has offered, in addition to good projects, legal and institutional stability to attract more and more investors.
"The investor is not afraid of risk, but he is afraid of legal uncertainty. He wants to enter, but knowing what the rules of the game are. He wants to play with the same rules until the end of the game", pointed out the minister.
