Minerva Foods intensifies premium beef strategy in Chile

Minerva Foods is accelerating its strategy of valuing premium brands in South America and has Chile as one of its main expansion focuses.

The Chilean market is considered strategic because it historically values meat imported from countries such as Argentina and Uruguay, recognized for its superior quality.

The company seeks to position Brazilian Pampas production within this same level of perception, expanding the presence of premium brands in retail and food service in Chile.

Another relevant factor for the strategy is the change in the health status of Rio Grande do Sul, which is now recognized as an area free from foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination.

This advance opened up space for the export of bone-in beef to Chile, a product with greater added value and high demand in the local market.

With this, Minerva now has qualified units in the South of Brazil to meet this new demand, which reduces logistical distances and allows greater agility in the supply of fresh cuts.

In addition to direct exports, the company maintains a consolidated structure in Chile, with its own subsidiary, commercial offices and distribution centers. This presence allows integrated operations between production, import and distribution, serving different sales channels in the country.

Consumption

The company's strategy is also aligned with demographic and consumer trends that indicate greater interest in foods rich in protein, especially in a context of increasing life expectancy and the search for nutritional quality.

During participation at the APAS Show, the Global Head of Communication and Marketing at Minerva Foods, Daniela Arantes, highlighted that the company works to bring food closer to moments of coexistence and well-being for families, reinforcing the emotional connection with consumption.

She stated that the company invests in brands that translate comfort, tradition and food quality in a scenario of greater appreciation of natural products and controlled origins. According to the executive, this positioning is in line with a global trend towards more conscious consumption.

Production

The company works in partnership with producers in the Pampas region of Rio Grande do Sul to improve management techniques, sustainability and productivity, with the aim of guaranteeing a consistent quality standard throughout the entire chain.

According to the area executive, the natural environment of the Pampas, combined with the pasture-based diet, has a direct impact on the final result of the meat. The interaction between climate, genetics and management is seen by the company as a competitive differentiator in the premium segment.

The production lines predominantly use British breeds and pasture-based systems, with the animals remaining for a large part of the production cycle in the open field.

Originally associated with production in Argentina, the operation is also carried out in Brazil, especially in Rio Grande do Sul, where climate and pasture conditions are similar to those of traditional high-quality livestock farming regions in South America.

This production model contributes to specific sensory characteristics of the meat, such as tenderness, flavor and different color, often associated with a more buttery profile and greater added value in the premium segment.
