Mine accident leaves four dead and 90 arrested in China, says media

Four people died and 90 remain trapped underground after carbon monoxide levels exceeded limits at a coal mine in Changzhi city, north China's Shanxi province, state news agency Xinhua reported on Friday (22).

The accident occurred at the Liushenyu coal mine in Changzhi. By early Saturday morning (23) local time, 157 of the 247 workers who were underground had been rescued, including four dead, Xinhua said.
