Millie Bobby Brown says she is interested in playing an older Eleven
Actress Millie Bobby Brown, 22, spoke in an interview with the podcast "The Discourse" that she is not completely ready to leave her character Eleven behind. When asked about the protagonist's future after the end of the series "Stranger Things", she admitted that she hopes she is alive and that her fate remains a mystery even to the rest of the cast.
"I mean, objectively, she appears to be dead, but then there's that ending that opens up a loophole; maybe she's smarter than everyone thinks and managed to escape," Brown said. "The Duffer brothers and I are the only ones who know the real truth."
She also revealed that, despite being satisfied with the outcome, it was difficult to accept the end: "I'm not done with El yet. I love her so much," she said. "I would love to see what she would be doing in her 30s. I would be interested to see that. I hope others would be too - if she's still alive," Brown added.
Brown has already spoken openly about how difficult it was to end the cycle of the character she began playing at age 12. In interviews in recent months, she said that she cried for almost the entire month of January after the final episode of "Stranger Things" aired. What affected her the most, she said, was seeing her co-stars dealing with the end of production.
"Feeling everyone's sadness... it was very strong. And then, immediately, I started calling each member of the cast [asking]: 'You're still going to be part of my life, right?'", he recalled.
Brown also recalled the moment he arrived on set for his last day of recording and realized how many "last moments" he was experiencing. "I was like, 'Oh my God, this is my last day. This is the last coffee I'm going to have, the last mark on the floor that I'm going to stand on,'" she said on the Today show in early March.
The actress will soon debut in the third film in the Enola Holmes franchise, giving life to the spirited detective, almost four years after the first film.
In addition to marking a new phase for Enola Holmes on screen, the third film in the franchise was also special behind the scenes. In an interview given exclusively to CNN Brasil, part of the cast and the director, Philip Barantini, shared what it was like to follow the evolution of the story over the years and revealed details of the dynamics between the cast during recording.
For actor Henry Cavill, who has played Sherlock Holmes since the first film, his relationship with Millie Bobby Brown - the actress who plays the protagonist - evolved in a very similar way to that of their characters.
"Millie and I already have a kind of our own language at this point. We joke a lot on set, and the relationship is really like that of siblings. We don't take it easy when we're making fun of each other. It's a really fun filming environment," said the actor.
