Michelle Bolsonaro was convinced not to leave the PL and the Senate race is maintained, allies say
Ana Flor: Women allies removed Michelle from disaffiliation
Allies of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro say they removed the former first lady from disaffiliating from the Liberal Party (PL) and guarantee that her candidacy for the Senate in the Federal District is maintained.
In a letter, this Tuesday (30), Michelle announced that she has decided to leave the presidency of PL Mulher.
The departure occurs amid the crisis between her and Flávio Bolsonaro, her stepson and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the PL. This Tuesday, Michelle met with the national president of PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, at the headquarters of PL Mulher, in Brasília.
Valdemar sought to reduce tension between Michelle and Flávio Bolsonaro after the release of a video in which the former first lady criticizes her stepson. The meeting with Valdemar Costa Neto lasted more than two hours.
Michelle would have already arrived with the decision made to leave the command of PL Mulher. According to allies, she felt a lack of solidarity regarding the attacks on social media.
"She was very discouraged by the attacks she received. We even took the disaffiliation form out of her hand," said an ally.
After the meeting, Michelle released a note in which she said that she will dedicate her time to taking care of her husband, former president Jair Bolsonaro, who is under house arrest and was sentenced to 27 years in prison for a coup d'état.

The former first lady also met with senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF) and the governor of DF, Celina Leão, candidate for re-election. In addition, he spoke to PL women leaders in several states.
The climate of solidarity and indignation of some of them demonstrates Michelle's difficulty in rebuilding her relationship with her stepson, Flávio Bolsonaro, and supporting him in the campaign.
According to the former first lady, the decision was taken after reflecting with Bolsonaro on the moment the family was experiencing. I met with the President of the Liberal Party this afternoon and informed him of my decision to leave the Presidency of PL Mulher to dedicate myself - fully - to caring for my husband and daughter", says Michelle.
The PL intends to launch Michelle as a candidate for the Senate in the Federal District. In the note she released this Tuesday, she does not mention plans for this year's elections.
In a note, the president of the Liberal Party (PL), Valdemar Costa Neto, said that the former first lady "is going through a difficult time, she feels closely the injustices and anguish that the greatest leader in the recent history of this country has been going through", in reference to Jair Bolsonaro, under house arrest since March.
