Mexican press puts Memphis, from Corinthians, on Tigres' radar
The name of Memphis Depay once again moved the international football market. Specialized outlets and profiles in Mexico began to report Tigres' possible interest in signing the Corinthians striker, who is experiencing a moment of uncertainty regarding his future at the São Paulo club.
According to the Mexican profile "FAFHOO", on the social network X, the Dutchman is seen as an option to replace the experienced André-Pierre Gignac in the Tigres squad. The publication highlights that, if Memphis does not renew his contract with Corinthians, the Mexican club will try to take advantage of the opportunity to sign him without transfer costs, only paying for his salaries.
"Tigres are looking to sign Dutchman Memphis Depay. The player would remain a free agent, a situation that the club seeks to take advantage of, as it would only have to cover his salary of 5 million dollars per year", published the profile.

Renewal impasse
Negotiations for Memphis Depay's contract renewal with Corinthians have not yet progressed. Despite the mutual interest in continuing the partnership, talks are only expected to gain strength after the Dutch striker's vacation, as he undergoes a period of rest following the Netherlands' elimination from the World Cup.
Corinthians has already presented an official proposal to the number 10's staff. The offer provides for the extension of the contract until July 2028 and includes a financial restructuring to enable the player to remain at Parque São Jorge.
Currently, however, Memphis is resting after its discreet participation in the World Cup. The expectation behind the scenes is that the attacker and his representatives will resume negotiations more intensely in the coming weeks.
Corinthians seeks solution
While awaiting a response from the Dutchman, Corinthians is working to find the best financial format to support the renewal. The proposal presented foresees that the costs of the new contract will be divided between the football and marketing departments. Furthermore, the club intends to pay in installments around R$43 million in bonuses still owed to the athlete throughout the new contract.
Another aspect of the project involves the search for companies interested in associating their brands with the image of Memphis. Behind the scenes, the marketing department tries to attract commercial partners to assist in the operation, considered strategic by the board.
In addition to trying to increase revenue, Timão is also evaluating making space on the squad's salary bill. The idea is to take advantage of contracts that end in the coming months to reduce costs and allocate part of that amount to Memphis' stay.
