Mexican police arrest man who rented his World Cup credential

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Mexico City accused of renting his access card to the 2026 World Cup games held in the Mexican capital.
According to the Mexico City Public Security Secretariat, the suspect advertised the rental of the document on networks social.
The investigation began after a complaint made by a representative of the World Cup organization. According to the authorities, several publications were identified in which the young man offered his credential to third parties.
The police reported that the man was detained when he went to a location to reactivate his access pass.
"The individual went to the location to reactivate his pass, at which point the organization's team detained him", reported the Public Security Secretariat.
The authorities did not detail the type of credential used by the suspect nor what charges will be formally filed against him.
