With just a few weeks to go before the start of the 2026 World Cup, the Argentina national team raises the alarm regarding the clinical situation of star Lionel Messi.

According to the newspaper "Olé", the star will undergo tests this Monday (25) after leaving the field injured, last Sunday (24), in Inter Miami's victory over the Philadelphia Union.

Although the coach of the Florida team, Guillermo Hoyos, believes that Messi was just fatigued due to the heavy pitch, the Argentine publication says that the star was "a little shaken" in the locker room and decided to undergo tests to understand the extent of the problem.

"He was actually suffering from fatigue in that regard; it was indeed fatigue. He was tired, the pitch was heavy and when in doubt, the standard approach is always to make sure you don't take any risks," Hoyos stated.

Argentina in the World Cup
Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni announced a list of 55 players, including Messi, on May 11. He will need to reduce the list to 26 before FIFA's June 1 deadline.

Messi played a fundamental role in Argentina's third world championship triumph, in Qatar, four years ago. The team begins its title defense against Algeria, in Kansas City, on June 16.
