Two former employees of a private company in the Federal District were the target of an operation this Friday morning (10) on suspicion of using artificial intelligence to produce and disseminate fake pornographic images and videos of former co-workers.

The PCDF (Civil Police of the Federal District) launched the action to execute search and seizure warrants against the suspects. The operation is conducted by the 2nd Police Station (Asa Norte) and investigates the crime of disseminating a sex scene or pornography through editing.

According to the police, the investigation began after reports that images of company employees were used to create falsified pornographic content through technology known as deepfake, which uses artificial intelligence to insert the faces of real people into manipulated videos and photographs.

According to investigations, the material was disseminated via corporate emails and also published on an adult content platform, causing exposure and embarrassment to the victims.

The PCDF reported that the analysis of registration data and the examination of hard drives provided by the company gathered evidence of authorship against the two former employees.

The Civil Police highlighted that the creation and dissemination of false intimate content using artificial intelligence are crimes considered serious. The expected penalty is four to ten years' imprisonment, in addition to the sanctions corresponding to other crimes that may have been committed. Investigations remain ongoing.
