Memphis Depay's future at Corinthians remains undefined, but the Dutch striker can still reach an important target set out in the contract before the end of July. If he is listed for two more matches until the end of his current contract, the number 10 will be entitled to receive a bonus of more than R$3 million.

Currently, Memphis has participated in 32 of the 65 games played by Corinthians since his arrival in August 2025. The contract establishes an additional payment when the athlete is listed for at least 50% of the club's matches in the period. To reach this percentage, it is enough for the player to appear on the list of related players in two more official commitments, regardless of whether he enters the field.

Timão will still play three matches before the striker's contract ends, scheduled for July 31st. The clashes will be against Remo and Athletico-PR, both at Neo Química Arena, in addition to the visit to Bahia, at Arena Fonte Nova, for the Brazilian Championship.

If the target is reached, Memphis will be entitled to a bonus of R$3,150,402. The contract also provides for additional bonuses if the attacker achieves higher participation percentages during the season:

- R$ 3,150,402 when reaching 50% of the games;
- R$ 1,575,201 extra when reaching 60%;
- Another R$ 1,575,201 when reaching 70% of the matches.

Contractual situation may prevent participation

Despite the possibility of achieving the goal, there is a bureaucratic obstacle. At the moment, Memphis does not have a valid registration in the systems of the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).

The problem occurred because, during the registration of the contract, it was wrongly informed that the player's contract would end on June 20th. According to the executive director of football, Marcelo Paz, the correction only depends on the documentary regularization between the club and the athlete, but, until the change is completed, the attacker remains unable to act officially.

First season had greater participation

In his first season wearing the white shirt, between September 2024 and July 2025, Memphis was present in 71% of Corinthians' matches, a percentage enough to receive approximately R$6.3 million in bonuses provided for in the contract.

Renewal is still under negotiation

While seeking to regularize the striker's situation, Corinthians are also holding talks to renew the player's contract. The board has already presented a proposal to expand the contract, with values lower than those in the current contract and fully paid for by the club.

Negotiations, however, have not yet reached a definitive agreement.

Another point that weighs on the conversations is the debt between Corinthians and Memphis. The club still has approximately R$42 million in outstanding amounts, relating to gloves, goal bonuses, prizes and other contractual clauses. The board's intention is to include a plan to pay this amount in installments in a possible renewal.

As a result, the next few weeks could be decisive both for the number 10's future at Parque São Jorge and for fulfilling yet another million-dollar clause in his contract.
