Called up by the Netherlands national team for the 2026 World Cup, Memphis Depay continues to participate in the Dutch campaign in the competition. Qualified for the knockout phase, the team will face Morocco next Monday (29), at 10pm (Brasília time), in a duel that counts for a place in the round of 16.

Even with little time on the field, the number 10 directly participated in a goal in the competition. In the 5-1 victory over Sweden, in the second round, the striker assisted Summerville to score the Dutch team's fifth goal.
Despite the offensive participation, Memphis is still looking for its first submission in this edition of the World Cup. According to data from Sofascore, the striker has not yet completed any move towards the opponent's goal in the three matches played.
The offensive numbers also show two decisive passes, a successful cross and good use in the exchange of passes. The player made 15 passes and missed just two during his participation in the group stage.
On the physical side, Memphis recorded an average of 13.1 kilometers covered per game, in addition to 14.1 sprints per game, reaching a maximum speed of 31.4 km/h.
Defensively, the attacker has recovered three possessions, but has not yet registered tackles, interceptions or cuts in the tournament. The performances earned ratings of 6.5 against Japan, 6.6 against Sweden and 6.2 in the match against Tunisia, according to Sofascore.
In addition to sporting expectations, the Netherlands' stay in the World Cup also represents a financial return for Corinthians. Memphis is part of the FIFA Club Benefits Program, which pays teams for each athlete called up for the tournament.
With the Dutch classification for the knockout stage, the Parque São Jorge club guaranteed another 20 thousand dollars, approximately R$ 103 thousand at the price used by FIFA. So far, Corinthians has already secured around 80 thousand dollars (approximately R$ 415 thousand) for the attacker's participation in the competition.
If the Netherlands advance to the World Cup final, scheduled for July 19th, the amount received by Corinthians could reach 180 thousand dollars, around R$ 934 thousand.
The Dutch are in the opposite group to the Brazilian team, which means that a possible confrontation between the teams can only happen in a possible World Cup final.
