Members of Collo de Menina say goodbye to Neto Araújo: "I lost a friend"
Following the death of the lead singer of the band Collo de Menina, Neto Araújo, this Thursday (2), after being found dead in his home. His bandmates, Matheus Leitte and Roberta Felina, spoke out and said goodbye to the singer.
Singer and composer Matheus published a black and white photo next to his group partner and said he was surprised by the sudden death. "Waking up to a good day like that, my brother, you were so happy, I'm helpless. Go with God, brother, may God comfort your family. Thank you for everything," he wrote. He also recalled moments on stage together and a video made this week, in which Neto promised he would pay for the team's barbecue when they had time off.
Saxophonist Roberta Felina shared that she was "heartbroken" after the musician's sudden death. She recalled arriving at Collo de Menina just a month ago and having fulfilled her dream of sharing the stage with the forró veteran. "I was already a fan of his work since Cavaleiros do Forró, and having him as a bandmate, as this 'head' of the group who took care of all of us with so much affection and respect, was a gift that life gave me. Neto, thank you for receiving me so well, for being this brother and friend who protected and welcomed me", declared the singer. "Your departure leaves a huge void and a silence that hurts. My respect and admiration for you will be eternal. Forró loses an unforgettable voice, and I lose a great friend."
She also recorded a video for her followers and showed that she was quite shaken by the loss. "I'm really bad. Just like you, I was taken by surprise when the company called me. I can't understand much. All I can say is that it hurts, a lot."
Confirmation of death was made on Collo de Menina's official profile on social media and the exact cause of death was not disclosed.
