Melton Sello creates pop punk narrative in the first album, 'Opa!', released eight years after the formation of the band from Rio

♬ Rio-based pop funk band whose name makes a playful reference to the actor Selton Mello, Melton Sello releases its first album on July 10th, "Opa!", eight years after being formed in 2018 in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and three years after having released the EP "Só sei que foi assim" (2023).
Named with an interjection that means 'the first album!' and with a cover featuring an illustration by Rodrigo Doin, the album was preceded by the singles "Para com essa para", "Dei bobeira" and "É mole?", released between April and June.
The album "Opa!" It was recorded at Mojo studio, in São Gonçalo (RJ), with musical production, mixing and mastering by Matt Nunes. In the arrangement of the tracks, Bill Dias (drums), Caio Paranaguá (vocals), Gabriel Barros (bass) and Igor d'Alambert (guitar) structure the repertoire - made up of 12 original songs, all signed by the four members of the band - as a narrative divided into two parts.
The first begins with the interlude that opens the album, "The first album!", and ends on the sixth track, the instrumental theme "Joia dub", covering the songs "More of the same (2000 and whatever)", "Stop this shit", "Is it soft?" and "Move to the countryside".
The second part goes from the seventh to the 11th track - which are, in order, "Dei bobeira", "Umbigo", "Microplásticos" (song recorded with support from Maitê Padilha), "The worst ticktocker on my street" and "Mais a bit" - while the final track, "Boto fé", works as the epilogue of the narrative.
