Paraguay defeated Germany on penalties, this Monday (29), in Boston, and advanced to the round of 16 of the World Cup. After a 1-1 draw in normal time, goalkeeper Orlando Gill shone and saved two shots to classify the South American country in the tournament.

Player for San Lorenzo, from Argentina, had a good performance in the regulation period. In total, he made six saves, being instrumental in holding off pressure from the Germans and taking the dispute to penalties.

He started his career at Club Sportivo San Lorenzo, a small team from his hometown. Afterwards, the 26-year-old goalkeeper moved to Argentine football in 2024, where he still plays today.

His career with the Paraguayan National Team began in September last year, when he made his debut against Peru, in the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
