Gaúcha model Joana Camargo, 29, represented Brazil at Miss Eco International 2026, which took place in Egypt this Friday (22). The young woman came in 5th place in the competition, but what caught the public's attention was an unexpected fact.

When she took the stage for the awards ceremony, she fell and sat on the floor during the live broadcast of the event. The fall happened exactly at the moment Joana's placement would be announced.

The competition focused on environmental issues and sustainability. The Miss Eco International 2026 title went to Mexican Palmira Ruiz, while Mishel Shotropa, from Ukraine, and Adriana Gravador, from Australia, completed the Top 3. Fourth place went to Indonesian Nickyta Aurellia.

Career in beauty pageants
This is not the model's first competition, she has already spent more than 10 years in the world of pageants. In 2019, he represented Brazil in a world competition in Colombia.

But in addition to working as a model and actress, Joana is a lawyer, teacher and master in law. In 2017, she founded a social project focused on solidarity actions in vulnerable hospitals, institutions and families. The "Um Elo de Amor" project impacted more than 15 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul and worked with volunteer teams during floods in the state.

Despite her years in the field, the model announced her "retirement" from beauty pageants.

"This was my farewell to the world of competitions. This legacy that I have been carrying for over 10 years in my life, which I have been living, making the most of. I also had the opportunity to be Brazil in Colombia, where we won an international title. This was the second international competition in which I had the pleasure of representing our nation", she said during her speech.

Joana thanked the public for their love in a post on social media.
