Medicine student Letícia de Morais Vasconcelos Rodrigues, aged 40, was found dead inside her own apartment in Barbacena, in the interior of Minas Gerais. According to Itatiaia's investigation, the victim may have suffered more than a hundred stab wounds.

Preliminary information from sources linked to the investigation indicate that at least 130 injuries were identified on the woman's body, including stab wounds and superficial bruises.

In the decision that converted the suspect's arrest from flagrant to preventive, judge Alanir José Hauck Rabeca mentioned that the medical student suffered "hundreds of knife blows".

The MPMG (Public Ministry of Minas Gerais) highlighted that "the victim was hit, unbelievably, by more than a hundred blows, which caused multiple injuries and extensive bloodshed, showing extreme violence and intense intent."

According to the Military Police, Letícia's ex-husband and a friend would have gone to the victim's apartment after being unable to contact her, who normally responded quickly to messages, according to her colleague.

Upon arriving at the scene, the two found the victim already lifeless, with blood marks and puncture wounds all over his body, mainly on the head, back of the head, neck, back, ears and hands.

The friend told the police that she tried to contact her colleague several times, but was unsuccessful. She even contacted the owner of the apartment to try to find out what had happened, but he was not in town.

The woman then called Letícia's ex-husband and, together, they managed to enter the apartment. They broke down the door and found Letícia already dead.

Witnesses said that the victim was with her boyfriend at a party the day before she disappeared. After the event, the two would have gone to Letícia's apartment. The victim still responded to some messages around 11:40 pm, and then disappeared.

After forensic work, the police also found that the victim's vehicle was not in the garage.

Record of violence
The couple had already had disagreements a few times and the suspect had aggressive behavior, according to the police file. Letícia even filed a police report against her boyfriend in February, reporting threats and jealousy.

Because of this history, the police began searching for the suspect first at the address where he lives, but the man was not at home.
