Matuê debuts at Rock in Rio Lisboa celebrating northeastern roots

Matuê, 32, made history by becoming the first Brazilian rapper to perform on the Palco Mundo do Rock in Rio Lisboa this Sunday (28). At the festival, which takes place in the Portuguese capital, the artist celebrated his roots with an unprecedented show.

The rapper performed successful tracks, such as the hit "777-666", "Kenny G", "Quer Voar" and "Crack com Mussilon". To surprise the audience, Matuê performed, for the first time live, the song "Rei Tuê", from the album "XTRANHO", released in December 2025.

The presentation also featured special appearances by rappers Brandão, Cashley and Kouth.

Costume exalted northeastern roots
Born in Fortaleza, Ceará, Matuê used the presentation to exalt his northeastern roots. The artist took the stage wearing a custom-made silver eye patch. The item was inspired by the aesthetics of cangaceiros and northeastern banditry.

In addition, during the second block of the show, the main reference to the cangaceira aesthetic was the aged leather jacket, inspired by the Japanese punk band G.I.S.M. The look was accompanied by Ed Hardy pants, as well as Balenciaga boots and belt.

Matuê also maintained the NPC (Don't Pass Credibility) concept, born during the creative processes of the album "XTRANHO", which claims creative freedom in the Brazilian underground. On the Rock in Rio Lisboa World Stage, these ideals were reflected in a pink jacket look personalized with elements from the album.

In the line-up of the main stage at Rock in Rio Lisboa, Matuê shares space with the British 21 Savage and Central Cee. The last day of the festival also features performances by Filipe Ret, Cee Lo Green, The Boys of the Bands and Dennis.
