Matthew Broderick sees spike in searches after presence in Brazil game
Actor Matthew Broderick, 64, was seen last Wednesday night (24) watching the match between Brazil and Scotland in the final round of the group stage of the World Cup. The actor was accompanied by his son James Wilkie Broderick, 23, who wore a Brazil shirt and posted stories of the Brazilian anthem and Neymar on the field.
The actor was wearing a São Paulo Futebol Clube shirt. On the back, it read "Save Ferris", in reference to the film that launched his career, "Curtindo a Vida Adoidado", directed by John Hughes.
Married to actress Sarah Jessica Parker, Broderick became famous for the 1986 classic. He plays the subversive Ferris Bueller, the protagonist who decides to take a day off from his teenage "obligations" alongside his best friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) and his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara). The trio drives through the streets of Chicago in Cameron's father's red Ferrari and does everything they can to have adventures without getting caught.
The work represented the spirit of a youth recently introduced to new technologies and pop culture, such as the MTV channel. Along with other films such as "Clube dos Cinco" and "Gatinhas e Gatões", "Curtindo a Vida Adoidado" has become one of the classics of coming-of-age cinema.
Later in his career, the actor was part of the cast of other hits such as "Godzilla" and also voiced the adult version of Simba, in the Disney cartoon "The Lion King". Broderick also stood out on stage, having been awarded two Tony Awards, the main theater award, for starring in the musical "The Producers" (2001/2008) alongside Nathan Lane.

As for the São Paulo FC shirt, it was a gift from businessman Diogo Fernandes, recognized for his consolidated performance in the financial market and for being "responsible" for Carlo Ancelotti's arrival in the Brazilian National Team.
The gift was given in the match in which Brazil beat Scotland 3-0, which marked Neymar Jr.'s return to the pitch, further strengthening the strategic relationships that bring together the big names in entertainment, sports and business.
