Matheus Pereira points out the error that cost Cruzeiro victory over Fluminense
Cruzeiro drew 1-1 with Fluminense this Sunday (31), at Mineirão, in the Brazilian Championship, in the last game before the break for the World Cup. Author of the heavenly goal, Matheus Pereira cited the main problem of the team that did not let them win.
Cruzeiro had greater control of the game and created good chances, but failed in all of them. According to Matheus Pereira, the lack of efficiency was the team's problem, despite the good performance.
"We played a good game, but unfortunately we weren't as effective as in the last one and that cost us two points. We deserved to win today's game, but we could have been a little better", he told CazéTV.
Cruzeiro finished 19 times, but only scored on goal three times. The goal only came because the number 10 had a free kick that took away Fábio's chance to save.
Compared to the last game mentioned by Matheus, the 4-0 rout against Barcelona-EQU, the celestial team took 21 shots, eight on goal.
Despite the result not being ideal, the Cruzeiro number 10 valued the point won and the maintenance of the team's unbeaten record.
"There are eight games without losing and that is the merit of the team, we have managed to at least if we can't win, don't lose. This is also an important point on the journey", he concluded.
Cruzeiro, like all clubs in Brazil, will only play again in the third week of July, after the end of the World Cup. The base date for the duel against Internacional, for the Brasileirão, is on the 22nd.
