Master: Zema criticizes corruption in the public sphere and defends privatizations

The former governor of Minas Gerais and pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic Romeu Zema (Novo) criticized corruption in the public sphere and defended the privatization of state-owned companies this Monday (1st), during the Eloos event, promoted by Itatiaia in partnership with CNN Brasil, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

"In my government plan there is privatization. The role of government is not to manage companies, but to manage health, education, public security well, which is no longer good", said the pre-candidate.

Zema also defended the measure as a way to reduce corruption. "The case of BRB (Bando de Brasília). No private bank fell into Banco Master's trap, only public institutions. It is very clear how susceptible they are to this type of corruption", stated the former governor.

The pre-candidate said that, if elected, he will carry out a pension reform and an administrative reform, in addition to reviewing social programs. He also criticized Lula's government spending and high interest rates.

"When Lula and PT's spending falls, the interest rate will fall by half in a year or less," he stated. "The market prices it, those who spend a lot like the current government, those who are paying the bill are rural producers with high interest rates and families in debt."
