Master Case: PF listed 40 profiles that attacked the Central Bank
The PF (Federal Police) carried out, on Thursday (9), the 10th phase of Operation Compliance Zero, which investigates signs of coordinated action on social networks with the aim of compromising the credibility of the Central Bank. According to findings by CNN Public Security analyst, Elijonas Maia, on Live CNN, the PF identified at least 40 profiles that published content attacking the institution.
The investigations point to the hiring of digital influencers and websites to disseminate narratives favorable to Banco Master and critical of the Central Bank. Publicist Thiago Miranda appears as a central figure in this arm of the investigation, being appointed as the person responsible for hiring these profiles.
The "DV Project" and the hiring of profiles on the internet
The Federal Police opened an investigation at the beginning of this year to investigate Thiago Miranda's role in the so-called "DV Project" - whose initials refer to Daniel Vorcaro.
According to investigations, gossip profiles, nutrition pages and other channels that had no relationship with the financial market were hired to attack Vorcaro's opponents and discredit the Central Bank. The PF arrived at this information after finding messages between Daniel Vorcaro and Thiago Miranda on the former banker's cell phone.
In a statement to the Federal Police, Thiago Miranda confirmed that he had hired the profiles, but stated that the initiative was not aimed at attacking institutions. According to him, it was a crisis management plan drawn up after the liquidation of Banco Master, in November last year, and the arrest of Daniel Vorcaro.
Miranda would have presented the plan to Vorcaro shortly after the former banker was released. The amounts involved in the contracts would, according to him, reach R$8 million.
40 profiles with the same speech
Based on a timeline that runs from December 9th of last year to January 6th of this year, the Federal Police identified at least 40 pages on the internet that shared the same speech, the same narrative and the same publications.
The content criticized the Central Bank, defended Daniel Vorcaro and portrayed Banco Master as a victim of the financial system, alleging that the Central Bank and the Brazilian government were acting against Brazilian society.
It is noteworthy, according to the survey, that among the 40 profiles identified there were gossip and nutrition pages that had never published any content related to banking or the economy.
Statements from representatives of these pages and profiles were also collected and confirmed to the PF that there was negotiation and hiring by Thiago Miranda and another businessman from Brasília who is also being investigated.
