Marquinhos points out the energy of the Brazilian fans as a differentiator of this World Cup

Marquinhos, captain of the Brazilian team, pointed out the strong support of the Brazilian fans in the stands as one of the main differences in this edition of the World Cup. The defender spoke at a press conference this Sunday (28), on the eve of the duel against Japan in the second phase of the World Cup.

According to the defender, the squad has felt the fans are more excited compared to other editions. "This is the World Cup in which we are feeling the energy of the fans the most. It has been making a difference. They have been important for us", he stated.

The captain also compared the Seleção's current situation with other World Cups and highlighted that, despite a difficult start, the focus is to end the campaign with a good result. Brazil debuted with a 1-1 draw against Morocco, but recovered and beat Haiti and Scotland 3-0.

"We arrived at other World Cups at better times compared to this one, that's a different factor too. But we know it's important to finish the competition well," he said.

Marquinhos also highlighted the group's confidence in this decisive stage of the tournament, but reinforced the need to maintain focus game by game.

"We are more confident every day to do our best. The mountain is very big, but we have to think step by step. Play a great game and continue with the tremendous humility that we got here. Trusting in our work and in our potential to show that we want to move on to the next phases", he added.

Brazil faces Japan this Monday (29), in the second phase of the World Cup. The ball drops at 2pm (Brasília time), at NRG Stadium, in Houston.
