Marina criticizes US measures on PCC and CV: "Brazil is not subservient"
Former Environment Minister Marina Silva (Rede-SP) spoke about the United States' decision to classify the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) and the CV (Comando Vermelho) as terrorist organizations.
In an interview with Live CNN this Thursday (11), she defended Brazilian sovereignty and praised the government's diplomatic conduct in the face of tensions with Washington.
"It was the Bolsonaro family that plotted against Brazil, as they plotted again now with this issue of considering criminal organizations, which must be combated by the Brazilian authorities, similar to terrorists, to provide a hook for intervention in our country, affronting our sovereignty", said Marina.
Marina also highlighted the role of President Lula (PT) in managing relations with the United States, especially in light of the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. "President Lula has been very skillful, very wise, making all these mediations in relation to tariffs," he said.
She added that Brazilian diplomacy has also been "skillful and competent" and that the vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) has also done an "excellent job".
Marina was emphatic in rejecting any posture of submission in the face of external pressure. "The fundamental thing is not to bend our backs. We are not a subservient country. We have some political leaders who are subservient, but the Brazilian people are not and deserve a worthy president, as is the case with President Lula, who talks as equals", he declared.
