Mantiqueira will be the 1st Brazilian company to export to South Korea
Mantiqueira Brasil became the first Brazilian company authorized to export fresh eggs to South Korea.
The approval, registered this week, covers two of the company's units: in Passa Quatro (MG) and Primavera do Leste (MT).
The information was anticipated by Mantiqueira and confirmed through records from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Federal Inspection Service (SIF).
According to these records, the Passa Quatro plant, registered as SIF 59, received authorization to export to the Asian country, under SIF 308, and the Primavera do Leste plant, registered as SIF 59. Both operations are now able to ship to the South Korean market.
The qualification takes place in one of the most rigorous markets in the world in terms of health and biosecurity
The approval was granted in record time, about a month after the Brazilian government announced the conclusion of health negotiations that opened the South Korean market to eggs and products derived from Brazil.
In May, the Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs highlighted that the opening would expand opportunities for Brazilian poultry farming, allowing access to a relevant market for both direct consumption and the food industry.
In 2025, Brazil exported US$2.4 billion in agricultural products to South Korea, with emphasis on soybean meal, poultry meat, coffee, soybeans, corn, tobacco, cotton and leather.
Entering the new market reinforces Mantiqueira's internationalization strategy. With more than three decades of operation, the company produces more than 4 billion eggs per year and already exports to countries in South America, as well as destinations in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the United States.
In Brazil, the company has 18 production units distributed across Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Paraná and Santa Catarina. In addition to fresh eggs, Mantiqueira produces pasteurized eggs and maintains a factory dedicated to the organic fertilizer Solobom.
