After announcing the departure of coach Pep Guardiola this Friday (22), Manchester City announced that it will honor the coach by changing the name of a section of the Etihad Stadium and also with a statue.

The North Stand, the recently renovated and expanded stand behind one of the goals, will be renamed The Pep Guardiola Stand.

The sector will have its full reopening in next Sunday's duel (24), against Aston Villa, in the last round of the Premier League. The match will mark Guardiola's farewell to the Citizens, who no longer have a chance of winning the title.

In addition to the tribute with the change of name of a section of the stadium, the Catalan coach will also receive a statue.

Hired in 2016, the coach won 20 titles with the club, including the unprecedented Champions League and six English league cups.

With City's title, Guardiola becomes the greatest champion of the League Cup
