Madonna reveals unusual invitation to partner with Sabrina Carpenter

Singer Madonna, 67, revealed that it was she who took the initiative to invite Sabrina Carpenter, 27, to a musical partnership. The two singers recorded "Bring Your Love", the first single from "Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II", the Queen of Pop's new album, and the rapprochement took place through a direct message on Instagram.

During a special program on the British broadcaster BBC on Friday (26), Madonna reported that she hesitated before sending the "direct", imagining that Sabrina might suspect the authenticity of the invitation.

"I sent her a direct message on Instagram. Sometimes you DM someone and think, 'She'll never believe it's me.'

Despite fans' anxiety about the release of the material, the artist stated that she avoids creating expectations regarding the album's reception.

"I have no expectations. I've been doing this for a long time. You hope for the best, but prepare for the worst."

When remembering the original 2005 album, Madonna stated that the success of the project was a surprise even for her.

"[With the first one] it was unbelievable, because we had no idea how brilliant it was. No, I'm kidding. But it was a huge success. It took me by surprise."

The singer stated that she is eager for the public to discover the new work in full.

"I'm excited for people to hear the entire album because it tells a story. It's a complete journey."

One of the most moving moments of the interview came when Madonna spoke about "Fragile", a track inspired by her brother, Christopher Ciccone, who passed away in 2024 after facing cancer.

The Grammy winner explained that she has not yet been able to show the song to her father, Silvio, 95, for fear that the tribute would be too painful.

When asked if he had already heard the song, she replied: "No. I'll see him soon and he'll hear it. But I don't want it to be too much for him."

The new album is scheduled for release on July 3rd.
