Madonna is back at number one on the charts after an 18-year break. The feat corresponds to the single "I Feel So Free", which jumped from eighth to first position on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, in the edition that airs on May 30th.

The return to the top of the charts consolidates the singer as one of the biggest forces in pop music on North American radio, marking her eighth number one career within the ranking.

End of the fast
The meteoric rise of the track, released worldwide on April 18th by Warner Records, was driven by a significant growth in the volume of daily plays and the strong support of radio programmers around the country in recent weeks.

The result ends the queen of pop's longest streak at the top of this Billboard list; The last time she topped the track airplay chart was in 2008, with the song "Miles Away".

With the new record, Madonna reaffirms her position as one of the most successful figures in the format, occupying sixth place among the artists with the most songs at the top in the history of the chart.

Despite this, the historic ranking continues to be led by French DJ David Guetta, who has 21 tracks in first place, followed closely by Calvin Harris (18), Rihanna (12), The Chainsmokers (10) and Ellie Goulding (9).
