Lula meets with Zelensky on the margins of the G7 in France
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met this Wednesday (17) with the Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in France.
"I met today in Évian, on the sidelines of the G7 meeting, at his request, with President Volodymir Zelensky. For about 40 minutes, I listened to his assessments on the current situation of the conflict, the possibilities of a ceasefire and the search for a diplomatic solution", wrote President Lula on his official profile on X.
In the publication, Lula also reiterated his desire that the UN Security Council "can act more effectively to end a conflict that has lasted more than four years."
According to the Brazilian president, he and Zelensky will maintain contact in the coming weeks.
