Lula announces progress in energy agreement with Mexico

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated this Wednesday (10) that Brazil took a step forward towards a possible energy agreement in conversation with the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum.

The countries also agreed to deepen talks on the bilateral legal framework for trade. In addition, Lula also cited advances in cooperation in health, tourism, public governance, science, technology and innovation.

The presidents also discussed tensions between the US and Cuba, reaffirming their position in favor of ending the conflict and expressing concern about the humanitarian situation on the Caribbean island.

The UN (United Nations) was also a topic in the conversation, where Lula and Sheinbaum reaffirmed their support for the candidacy of the former president of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, for the position of secretary general.
