Luiz Fernando surpasses last season's numbers and leads Corinthians U20's artillery in 2026

Corinthians U20 has a new offensive highlight in the 2026 season. Striker Luiz Fernando, known as Luizinho, reached a higher mark than last year with less than half of the games played. At 18 years old, the player has already scored 11 goals in 21 matches for Timãozinho, while in 2025 he had scored ten times in 39 matches.
The goal that put Luizinho ahead of last season's numbers came on Saturday (14), in Corinthians' 2-0 victory over Portuguesa Santista, at Fazendinha, in the third round of the Paulista Under-20 Championship. The striker started the match on the bench, but needed just 12 minutes on the field to find the net.

In the 31st minute of the second half, Gui Amorim advanced from the side of the field and crossed into the area. Luiz Fernando appeared well positioned and finished with a header to extend the score and confirm Corinthians' triumph.
With the goal against Portuguesa Santista, Luizinho also further isolated himself as the leader of Corinthians U20's artillery this season. The striker has seven goals more than second-placed defender Iago Machado, who has four goals in 16 games.
Timãozinho's list of goalscorers in 2026 still includes Luiz Fábio, Favela, with three goals in 20 matches. Luiz Gustavo Bahia, Lorenzo and Joãozinho appear soon after, with two goals each. Other athletes such as Levy Dias, Guilherme Pellegrin, Cauã Ribeiro, Gui Amorim, Gustavo Corrêa, Christian, Nícollas and Guilherme Pires have scored a goal this season.
Luizinho also appears among the assist leaders
In addition to being Corinthians U20's top scorer in 2026, Luiz Fernando also appears in the team's assists ranking. The striker has already contributed two passes to goals, tied with Joãozinho.
The leader of the list belongs to Gui Amorim, who reached four assists after the duel against Portuguesa Santista. The midfielder participated directly in the second goal of the match, finding Luizinho inside the area.
The first goal of the match also moved the waiter rankings. In the 50th minute of the first half, Luiz Gustavo Bahia crossed into the area, Iago Machado deflected it and Levy Dias completed it with a header. With his participation, Iago reached three assists in the season and took second place alongside Guilherme Pellegrin, Caraguá, Luiz Gustavo Bahia and Nícollas.
Luizinho's trajectory at Corinthians
Considered one of the players trained by Terrão, Luizinho arrived at Corinthians at the age of 12, coming from Red Bull Brasil, and went through all the club's training categories until reaching the Under-17.
For the category, the striker played 49 matches and scored 17 goals. In 2024, still at the age of 16, he made his debut for the Under-20s in a goalless draw against São Caetano, in the first round of the Campeonato Paulista in the category.
Since then, Luiz Fernando has played 89 games for the Under-20s and scored 25 goals. The striker has also had opportunities to train with Corinthians' professional squad. In 2024, he participated in activities with the main team led by Ramón Díaz and was even listed for the match against Cruzeiro, in the Brazilian Championship.
In March 2026, he returned to participate in professional team training at the invitation of Dorival Júnior. Despite the opportunities, he is still awaiting his official debut for the main squad. The athlete's contract is valid until December 11, 2027,
The striker should be available to coach William Batista for Timãozinho's next match. On Wednesday (17), at 3pm (Brasília time), Corinthians U20 will host Vitória, at Fazendinha, for the 16th round of the Brazilian U20 Championship.
