Corinthians won again in the National Futsal League (LNF) last Saturday night (27). Playing at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, Timão beat Tubarão 3 x 1, in a duel valid for the tenth round of the competition. The goals for the team led by Fernando Malafaia were scored by Vinícius Paiva, twice, and Igor Bredof.
After the final whistle, goalkeeper Lucas Oliveira, regular Lucas Martins and winger Vinícius Paiva spoke to the press in the mixed zone. The athletes highlighted the importance of the result, spoke about the moment the team was experiencing and projected the sequence of the season.

One of the squad captains, Lucas Oliveira commented on the responsibility assumed after Deives' retirement. The goalkeeper highlighted the leadership role played by the Corinthian futsal idol and stated that the group seeks to maintain this legacy on a daily basis.
"Today I am the captain, one of the captains. Deives left and left a huge gap in that leadership. We have been trying to take on this responsibility, both on the court, as the goalkeeper always has a huge responsibility on the court in futsal, something that I was already used to having been here for five years, so I already know what it is like. And now a leadership responsibility, a team with a lot of kids, we are trying to fill that gap. It is very difficult, because an idol has left, an guy who took responsibility, who decided games. It's not easy for us to replace him. On the court he won't be replaced, but off the court we've been trying to do this job", he said.
Afterwards, the number 3 also spoke about the pressure faced by the squad during the sequence of negative results and analyzed his performance against Tubarão.
"Man, we had a huge weight on our shoulders, because of everything we had been doing. The results weren't coming. We treated this game as perhaps the most important of the year. I managed to make more saves in this game, which is something I've been demanding a lot from myself. I don't think I was failing, but I also don't think I was being decisive in the way I should have been for being at Corinthians. I think today it flowed, things flowed, and now we take the weight off our shoulders with this victory. But we still look at the table knowing that we can improve a lot", he commented.
The regular, Lucas Martins preferred to highlight the importance of the collective victory, which ended a period without triumphs for Corinthians in the National League.
"We managed to come away with a victory. It had been a while since we won in the National League. I believe that, for me, us winning the game, it doesn't matter if I assisted, if I scored. What matters most to us is winning."
Vinícius Paiva, responsible for finding the net twice in the black and white triumph, highlighted that the group never stopped believing in the work done, even in the face of pressure for results.
"We know the pressure will always exist with this shirt here, and if God wants to continue like this. Victory, victory and victory. Only defeats were coming lately, but we turned the key, we continued working and that's it. Every game, those who are following and watching know that we are playing well, but that little detail was missing. Today God blessed and that little detail appeared. And, God willing, it will continue to appear", he concluded.
Timão's next commitment will be for the A1 Paulista Futsal Championship. On Tuesday, the 30th, at 8pm (Brasília time), Corinthians returns to Ginásio Wlamir Marques to face Wimpro Guarulhos.
