Liverpool announce dismissal of Arne Slot after disappointing season

Arne Slot is no longer Liverpool manager.

The Dutch coach, Premier League champion in 2024-25, was fired after a disappointing season for the Reds. The announcement took place this Saturday (30), through social media.

The club stated that it is already working to announce a successor. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the favorite name to take charge of the club is Andoni Iraola, current coach of Bournemouth.

Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way.

Arne Slot was signed by the Reds for the 2024-25 season, with the mission of replacing Jurgen Klopp.

In his first year, he managed to win the Premier League with great dominance. However, in the following season he was unable to maintain his level of performance and results.

The English giant stopped in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and was only in 5th place in the English Championship.
